IMPORTANT: Many new Android devices have aggressive battery saving settings which shut down apps running in the background by default.
Some devices like Samsung will even put it "back to sleep" every 3 days if you keep turning it back on. Look for an Android battery setting to "optimize" the battery, and either turn it off, or make an exception for the app. Updates to newer versions of Android may also add an option called "Duraspeed" which will also shut down all apps running in the background by default.
